I wish I had a quarter for every time I've heard "I don't like Riesling it's too sweet"! Riesling grapes produce both bone dry and sweet wines! German bottles labeled Trocken are dry, most Alsatian Rieslings are dry in style and even though both styles are full of delicious fruit they do finish dry and crisp! A good indication of sweetness is alcohol level, the higher the drier. It's my fav white grape in styles ranging from dry to sticky!
NO!!! - we have a very dry riesling that is nutty and buttery and lingers on the palette, I don't know why it is always made with residual sugars. This is a wonderful wine when dry
Nope, they range from bone dry up to very sweet, largely depending on when they are picked and how much of the residual sugar is left after fermentation
