After rotating Thursdays this summer, Dan Graper impressed us and you our customers so much we have decided to put him on every Thursday night starting in September, from 7-11 PM in the upstairs bar/lounge. Dan plays a wide array of acoustic guitar genres with some great vocals! He plays many requests and loves to interact with the customers.
A quick bio on Dan:
Dan Graper holds a Bachelor of Music degree in classical guitar performance from the University of Delaware and has studied with notable instructors Dennis Sandole, Frederick Hand and Tony Trischka in Philadelphia and New York City. Dan has studied classical guitar technique with Temple University instructor Peter Segal and is also a scholarship winner at the Peabody Conservatory of Music.
Mr. Graper has been featured by "Guitar Player" magazine, Delaware's "TV Host",is the 1995 recipient of the DSMTA "Distinguished Composer of the Year" and was the Delaware Arts Council 1999 fellowship recipient in music composition. He is presently in the process of publishing his own guitar method book and in addition has a printed collection of classical music pieces arranged for the five sting banjo. The August 2007 edition of the “Banjo Newsletter” featured Dan’s arrangement of “God’s own Singer.” Dan performs regularly throughout the tri-state area as a soloist, with the Brandywine Guitar Quartet, The Pickin’ Posse Bluegrass Band and other musical groups.
